Our Values

  • We create from a “play first” mindset. That means spontaneous dance parties at team meetings, costumes at the dinner table, and emojis in our emails.

  • We foster safe, inclusive, and equitable spaces that close access gaps across race, ability, socioeconomic status, gender, and wherever else we may find them. We aspire to enable choice.

  • We believe that co-creation and inviting others to share their gifts is key to creating a harmonious and leaderful community where people truly feel like they belong.

  • We are all connected; to our bodies, each other, mother earth, the cosmos… This interconnection demands that we extend compassion, respect, and care for one’s needs.

  • Community is at the core of what we do and who we are. It’s the pull of connection that helps us step into our highest selves.

We are a social health non-profit that is playing with new and renewed ways for humans to access connection and community.

We aspire to improve the the lives of those we serve by improving their competency with relationships, measured by quality.

We believe that fostering quality relations can build more resilient communities which can better our species chances of survival, let alone flourishing.

Reset aims to contribute to a shift in culture where social health is understood and prioritized in both policy and everyday life.

Social Health is the aspect of overall well-being that stems from connection and community. It is is an emerging concept that is different from but connected to mental health and social determinants.
While physical health relates to the body and mental health relates to the mind, social health relates to relationships.

Our Story So Far

Reset began in 2015 when we hosted one of the first digital detox experiences in the world (pictured, Camp Reset 2015).

Our Co-Founders, eager to address their experiences of disconnection, crafted a four-day adult summer camp in rural Canada for 80 people. The parameters were: no phones, no work talk and no real names. We called it Camp Reset, and what unfolded exceeded our most whimsical dreams, sparking a desire to extend the impact beyond ourselves.

The initial five camps (2015 - 2019) were experimental phases, with each year bringing increased size and stakes. However, the pandemic forced us to cancel Camp, bringing Reset to the brink of closure. Before that could happen, our community challenged us to reimagine Reset in light of the unprecedented mass disconnection and together, we co-created a new plan.

The plan began with outdoor participatory art since that was what was allowed at the time. In 2021, we hosted 50 Pop Up Playgrounds in public spaces that we designed to normalize sharing space with strangers again. We received a Community Champion Award from the City of Toronto for this (pictured).

Past Projects

In 2022, we set a new world record for the most nations in a group hug, in order to create an enduring symbol of pandemic-era reunification and to build dialogue and skills related to consenting touch.

That same year, we brought back Camp Reset, we began working with organizations seeking to improve the social health of their teams and we opened a Community Living Room in Little Jamaica, Toronto.
